Easter is over. We’ve all eaten our weight in chocolate…or is that just me? At this point some people start to beat themselves up. Maybe your jeans feel snug, you are feeling sluggish, your healthy eating plan is a distant memory and the guilt creeps in ...“I’ve ruined my diet”, “I’m so bloated” etc etc….the list goes on.
But you know what, today I just want to say STOP!
Yes maybe we have made pigs of ourselves this weekend but so what? If you spend most of your days eating chocolate like it’s going out of fashion then yes, maybe you do need to pause and have a bit of a think about your eating habits. But having the occasional treat, or crazy weekend doesn’t mean you’ve ruined anything ... it just means you are living a normal life.
Don’t get so caught up in being healthy that you make yourself miserable. Eat the chocolate, enjoy the Easter egg. When you are done be grateful for the treat and acknowledge it as just that, a one off, and get back to your normality. Guilt is a wasted emotion and it definitely shouldn’t be used as an excuse to give up on your healthy lifestyle….it will take more than one chocolate filled weekend to do that!
